Validation Issue

Question
-
Hi,
I bought a factory refurbished HP dv9000 series notebook in January. It came with Windows Vista Home Premium as well as Office 2003 and 2007. I didn't like vista so I purchased xp media center edition 2005 and installed it on the machine then restored the office suites. I have downloaded several updates and gone through the validation process without a problem; however, when I go to this page http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4D951911-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en that has the add-in that I need in order to "save as .pdf", my validation fails and it states that my copies are illegal. Also, it kicks me to a chinese site for validation (perhaps because I am working in China at the moment). Anyway, I really need to download this add-in for my work immediately.
I followed all of the steps outlined in the first thread of this forum and here are the results:

Unfortunately, your installed copy of Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 is flagged as non-genuine (Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK). Also, your installed copy of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 is also non-genuine (Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2)
VLK = Volume License Key
Please visit: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/WhyValidate.aspx and click on Validate Office for more information. You'll be unable to download any Microsoft Office add-ons with non-genuine Microsoft Office software installed.How to buy genuine Microsoft Office programs:

Wow, I'm very dissapointed. I bought the computer from ebay seller custom_specialists . They sell a lot of these computers. In fact, there is one listed right now that is identical to the one that I bought - http://cgi.ebay.com/Hewlett-Packard-HP-dv9000-64-bit-1-8Ghz-Notebook-NEW_W0QQitemZ300204507333QQihZ020QQcategoryZ140082QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Do I have any recourse in this case? Is it not illegal to sell invalid copies of Microsoft Software. They are claiming that these computers come directly from HP and that all software is installed by HP.
Also, oddly enough, Project 2003 came off of the same disc as the rest of my 2003 office programs, yet it is not flagging as invalid though it uses the same key.
