How to change display name on CRM ? RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I can install succesful CRM 4.0 on Windows 2008 Ent R2.

    Now I want to change display name of CRM ?

  • If you only need to change the name that shows in the URL then you can set up a DNS alias name and give that URL to the users to use to access CRM.  

    If  you want to change the Organization name associated with the database, here is a link for that

    Changing the Business Unit name is not going to change the way the URL displays.  You can setup the DNS Alias for that.

  • If you backup your org database, restore it with a new name, import your organisation database, you can set the names properly in the import wizard. The default business unit will also be renamed this way. This guide you help you more.

    If you are not running CRM 4 Enterprise, you won't be able to take advantage of multi-tenancy, so the process is slightly different. You will have to backup your db, disable the org, delete the org and then follow the restore/import process.

  • Hi Vinh, You cannot change the name of BusinessUnit, you have to created anotherone.
    Second, In order to change organization name, you have to redeploy crm.

  • I am not sure what you mean by Display Name. I am listing out few options here :
