MS MONEY - No COMMON TASK in left panel to customized REPORTS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi transferred whole folder of MS Money  Plus from laptop to new PC and happily worked for last 2 months entering data. All my customized payees and categories were moved with last saved account data so was no hiccups.

Today I wanted to create a report for last half a year and I've noticed that my old  favorites reports weren't move at all!

So I entered  REPORTS and found that I don't have option COMMON TASKS on left panel to Customize Report. There are only pie views for chosen standard reports already created within program. There is no chose to switch pie view to r

How I could activate that option? How all data were transferred and not reports? How software could loose certain options/function when moved across  ?

    Thanks  Bozena

  • Reports->ChangeReportSettings->SwitchFromEssentialToAdvancedReports.

That may not be it... I just, as a test, switched to essential reports. There was Common Tasks, but no Customize.

So you may want to do some testing. Open Sample.mny to see if that has the Customize working. If so, the file is corrupted, it would seem You could try a Level 1 repair: File->RepairMoneyFile->StandardFileRepair level 1

It will, however remove any customized reports.

If that does not fix it, try level 2. You could try level 2 first, since that does not remove customized reports.

If Sample.mny has that problem, reinstall Money Plus. It will not delete your *.mny files. You could try reinstall even if Sample.mny does not show a problem.

Before saving your file, to avoid overwriting a good backup, increase the number of backups that Money will make without overwriting. A backup could be important to you, and it would be a shame to overwrite your last backup from before a corruption.

    I suggest checking
x Automatically backup my Money file every time I close Money
Save in [a place on your hard drive ]
x Ask me before backing up each time*
       x Compress Backup Files
Keep only the _20_most recent backup files [adjust to taste]
x Perform scheduled backups every _14_ days
Save in [a USB flash drive location]
x Ask me before backing up each time*
       x Compress Backup Files
Keep only the _4_most recent backup files [adjust to taste]
