Every time I run Vista while not in safe mode, I am not allowed to do anything, even run Control Panel or Command Prompt. It says that WMI has had a critical error and fails, along with many other errors and services crashing, I'm also told that a TBS enabled device is not installed, here is the Report from the Diagnostic Tool:

  • Hello VereHraefn,

I see from your Diagnostic Report, that you have the Release Candidate for Service Pack 1 installed.  When Microsoft lets users try out a Release Candidate of any software, they "timebombed" it to stop working on a specific date. Microsoft does this so our customers don't continue using a "Beta" product when the updated version of the product is available

The issue that you are experiencing is most likely due to the Release Candidate of SP1 expiring. Please see the last paragraph of this support doc http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936330 to learn how to uninstall the Release Candidate of Service Pack 1.

    Thank you,

    Darin Smith
