OCS2007 R2 and Aethra Vega X5 VC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using OCS 2007 R2, MOC 2007 R2 (3.5.6907.22)

I got an Aethra Vega X5 vc unit and it registers properly in OCS - I can see the status of the unit in the MOC client.  I can initiate a video call from it to a MOC client, and the MOC endpoint rings, but I can't start the video call from MOC.

I've set the unit as an authorised host, and set it to treat the host as authenticated.

The only configurable SIP settings on the Aethra unit are configured like this:

    Name: vc-unit@mycompany.com
Registrar: IP address of OCS server
Proxy: IP address of OCS server
    Server type: OCS
    TCP port: 5060

There doesn't seem to be a lot of people using these units, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd welcome them!

    Rory.

  • Thanks for that.  We actually got it working with a firmware upgrade to v12 from Aethra.

  • Aethra video Interop scenario is not supported by OCS.
Currently, only Polycom and Tandberg has their video products interop with OCS.
You will need contact Aethera if they managed to make video interop works with OCS, under specific circumstances and some special settings.

Tandberg, does work on a video gateway solution, VCS, that can proxy between traditional video end points and OCS,
it will make the Aethera interop with OCS.
