Writing Remote desktop capture application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I want to create an application where I can access remote desktop of a system. I want to specify some port other than the standard ports of RDP.
I am ready to install software on both machines.

do anybody have some idea how to create one or there is any such software available where I can specify different port.

i actually want to bypass my the firewalls and security that restrict use of it.

  • Hi Sandeep,

Windows itself provides you with Remote Desktop access. The following link will guide you regarding this.

If you however want a standalone application, TeamViewer will be a good choice as per my suggestion. It is also free for non-commercial personal use. The following link will guide you there :

    I hope this helps,

  • Actually I have a system on web having  a static IP address. But I cant take mstsc of it from my organization as some firewall blocks it. So I am thinking of creating an application which will give me a remote of that system. I want to create a server (listener) for that system and  a viewer (client) for any general machine (behind firewall).

  • Hi Sandeep,

If any firewall is blocking that IP (static IP of yours) its not possible to do anything except ask your Sys Admin to give an exclusion to the IP address in the firewall.

There are other mechanisms like establishment of a middleman server between your server and your terminal in the organization.

Writing an application would not solve the problem as again the IP would be filtered.
