Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi. i have read the latest post about this problem and we had almost the same situation regarding windows 7 (ultimate). i have been asked to enter the product key but my sticker was also tampered, the first 2 keys cannot be read. i have tried guessing but i think it would eat a lot of time. as you can see below, my BIOS is valid but there is no SLIC table. i don't know if that is the main problem of my laptop getting that black wallpaper with a "not genuine" sign. i hope to get the right solution for this soon. thanks very much! :)

  • your COA will be on the bottom of your netbook or in the battery compartment. (assuming your computer shipped with windows)

i have been searching the web to fix my problem and i have tried that RemoveWAT but after attempts i already deleted the program. did that make the things worse?

    yes.

Your only solution is to install a genuine windows. your computer may have shipped with windows starter or an alternative OS or no OS at all.

edit: must have been typing at the same time:

what sites are legitimate sellers of windows instead? i don't want to be in the same situation again.

    you could try here:

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/list/categoryID.55857400

Only purchase from well known legitimate retailers.

  • the product key in use is the blacklisted Lenovo OEM SLP key. this key was blacklisted before windows 7 was released and has never been sold.

It also appears you have used an activation exploit called RemoveWat.

what version and edition is stated on your COA? (do not state the product key)
