Play XM on-line or live365 on WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to play "XM Sat. Radio On-line" on my WHS box. I tried and nothing happens. Do I need to install "JAVA" or some other "add-in"

Also I want to play "live365.com." in "Windows Media Player".

  • The use of desktop applications on Windows Home Server is generally unsupported. That includes media players. That said, for XM Satellite Radio Online I would assume they can provide you with at least some information as to how to install and configure their player. For Live 365, you should be able to "tune" stations in the version of Windows Media Player included with Windows Server 2003 (which is the base OS for Windows Home Server v1). You may also have some problems if you're trying to use Remote Desktop to control/play media remotely from your server. That's (again) not a supported way to use your server, so your best bet is going to be some searches here and on other sites like We Got Served, The Green Button, etc.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
