You need to activate OneCare after installing it using the LiveID associated with your subscription.

  • When my LiveCare expired, I uninstalled my old version as prompted by the computer and installed the new version from a CD also.  My status is still in the red and is prompting me to renew although the new version is working and I have registered it. How can this be fixed?

Go to http://billing.microsoft.com, sign in with your subscription LiveID, select the OneCare subscription and click renew. Select the option to renew with a token, which is the retail product key from within the retail package. Shortly after completion of the renewal, OneCare should update the status to green. It may take a while for this to update, though.
