IFD web service authentication issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

    We're changing our CRM to IFD.  As I understand it, I need to change my application code as it relates to authenticating with the CRM web services.  I'm now using the following line to obtain a ticket first, but getting an error:

    RetrieveCrmTicketResponse ticketResponse = (RetrieveCrmTicketResponse)disco.Execute(ticketRequest);

    This errors out with:
    "CrmTicket can be created with SPLA authentication type only from external address."

    The application that instantiates the CRM service is running on the same server as CRM itself.  Do I need to authenticate in a different fashion?

    Tks

  • This sounds like CRM 4.0?

    If so, yes you do have to authenticate differently from an internal address.  The IFD configuration tool allows you to define which address range(s) will be identified as internal.  If you connect to the CRM Server from an internal address you must continue to authenticate using AD authentication.  SPLA is used only when connecting from an external address.
