Invalid Product Key on two year old active product RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've had a trusty Gateway laptop for 23 months.  Yesterday I got a msg "The Windows Home Vista Product Key is invalid for activation".  I have followed the instructions to reinstall my product key several times, with out success.

    1. How can my product be invalid?  I've been using it for nearly two years without incident.

    2. I didn't change any settings or add any new hardware recently.

Does anyone have experience with this?
