Formatting Text

    Question

  • Hi,

is there any way to define custom formats for posts written with WLW? I
want to be able to define something like "command", that would put the
selected text for e.g. in a tag. Currently I have to switch to
the code view, search the text and insert the tag by hand. This
    is somewhat inconvenient.

Also being able to apply certain formats to a paragraph (like a style
class) would be helpful. I've setup some style-classes on my blog, and I
would like to mark certain areas of my post (like a disclaimer) like that.

Is there anyway this can be done using WLW?

  • You can use a nice little tool called Dynamic Templates.

I really suggest you go to the website and watch the videos to get the real idea of the plug-in. It can help/do many things.

    Website:
       http://www.joecheng.com/code/DynamicTemplate/

I use DT to INDENT text [example]:
       <p style="margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.5in"><br /><%= _selection %></p>

But you can do other things too; it's quite configurable to various things Windows Live Writer doesn't do by default.

    Download here:

    Happy blogging!
