Error Installing Live Mesh 800004002 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Vista 64bit Home Premium SP2 machine.   I attempted to install Live Mesh.  I recieved an error: "Installer encountered errors.  No Such interface supported error:800004002".  If I go to another 64bit Vista machine and run the installer (to get the livemesh.msi file)  "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\microsoft\Live Mesh" and copy it to the probem machine, I get: "Live Mesh Setup Wizard ended prematurely"  In the event logs I see:
-Beginning a Windows Installer transaction: C:\Users\username\Desktop\Setup\LiveMesh.MSI. Client Process Id: 4636.
-Successfully created restore point (Process = C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe /V; Description = Installed Live Mesh.).
-Ending a Windows Installer transaction: C:\Users\Username\Desktop\Setup\LiveMesh.MSI. Client Process Id: 4636.
-Product: Live Mesh -- Installation operation failed.
-Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Live Mesh. Product Version: 0.9.4014.7. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 1603.

    Any ideas would be great

  • Clean install of 32bt and 64bit didn't work.   But When I enabled Hardware Virtualization (The Customer will need it for Windows 7 Pro)  the issue disappeared.

Thanks for the update on how you resolved it, no matter how mysterious that seems. :-)
