Exception "Microsoft.Crm.Setum.Common.CommonResource" during installation of the CRM Desktop Client RRS feed

  • Question

    Hello,

we tried to install the MS CRM Desktop Client on the computer and got following exception:

"The type initializer for "Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Common.CommonResource" threw an exception. File or assembly name Microsoft.Crm, or one of its dependencies, was not found."

Unfortunately, I tried out any solution available on the Internet but that does not help us further.

Every help will be much appreciated!

    With best regards,

  • Hi Imran!

    thank you for your help.

The problem is that the desktop client v.3.0 could not even been installed on this computer. The only thing the installation tool could do before the above exception occured is to download and install the additionally necessary software like .Net framework or MS Outlook updates. When their installation has been completed, we restarted the computer and started the setup of the desktop Outlook client again. And then, we got the above exception.

It is strange that the exception occured on just two PC's after the successful installation of the desktop client on over 50 other computers.

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

    With best regards
