Windows 10 update blocks RDS

    Question

  • Windows 10 update KB3163018 blocks my Internet Explorer RDS connection with my office. I have uninstalled the update, but it is automatically reinstalled every time I power off the computer. When I try to use the download to permit me to hide the update it does not offer me that update as an option - just various HP and Intel updates.

How do I prevent that update from installing whenever I power off?

  • Short answer - you can't. You can supposedly postpone updates on Win10, but you can't decline them forever.

Just one of the many reasons I'm not 'upgrading'.
