Best way to add button that triggers custom procedure RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

It's been a while since I've done any CRM development.  I need to write some code to that will replicate a row from the sales order entity and all related children.  I could do this by creating a custom ASPX page and link to via iFrame, but am wondering if there's a more elegant way to do this.  I know I can add custom code and execute via the Callout Model, but these events are fired in response to things like PreCreate, PostCreate, PreUpdate, PostUpdate.  None of these events really match what I want to do which is add a custom button to the sales order form that executes my code.

Is there a better way to do this?

    Tks in advance

  • You could develop a cilent side solution using Ajax, check out the CRM sdk with regards to client side web service calls. You can call the Create, Retrieve,  RetrieveMultiple, Delete and so on from the onload or from a custom button.
