Off Topic: Application failed "0xc0000006" booting computer

I am working on a computer issue with my son's friend. He has a HP Compaq running Windows XP. The boys play World of Warcraft on a regular basis. No new programs have been installed. Computer was shutdown last night and received an error message upon booting this morning. Computer will begin to boot and gets to the Windows loading screen. The error message is as follow "This application failed to initialize properly "0xc0000006" ". An attempt to start with last know good configuration failed with the same results. Safe Mode start attempted with same results. What do we do now?

After doing some checking that error code is not from Windows OneCare and if you are not using it you are off topic for this forum look for help here www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx I am going to mark this off topic but will not lock just in case.

This is what is happening to me. I was on my computer this morning. I shut down and when I rebooted later the same thing keeps happening. I am also unable to in safe mode. If you find an answer can you please forward the information to me?
