Issues after moving CRM 4.0 and SQL Server 2005 to another domain in the same physical server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently our development server was moved from one domain to another domain. The development server had CRM 4.0 and SQL Server 2005 installed. The server files were not shifted, the same physical server was itself shifted to another domain with all the existing installed files intact. Now after the movement was completed, the users (in both the new and old domain) are having issues logging in to the CRM, it is giving "DirectoryServicesCOMException" Exception. Earlier these users (in both the new and old domain) werea able to access the CRM 4.0 while in the old domain. The error that we are getting is this :

Any idea on how to solve this? I checked the Users under Security under MSCRM_Config database, and I can see things like :

    OLDDOMAIN/Priv.... and OLDDOMAIN/Security...

    Please assist. Thanks.

  • Those items you are seeing under the MSCRM_Config database are related to the security groups that are created in AD when first installing CRM.  Are the two domains, the one you moved to and the old domain, trusted in some way?  Were the groups migrated to the new domain also?
