CRM 2011 Organization interaction RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

What is the best practice for interaction between 2 or more CRM 2011 Organizations?

We currently have two organizations and merging them is currently not an option. So therefore we want them to interact.

Are there any documents/sites/blogs with ideas or best practices?

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards,
    Bart

  • Hi Bart,

It depends on what you are trying to do. If you need the whole database mirrored, steps for the same can be found here.

If you want to achieve point to point integration between 2 CRM instances, you are better off writing plug-ins to sync data on the other CRM instance.

    Hope this helps.

  • If you are running two organizations to separate out your two divisions, using business units might be a better option. This will let you decide on sharing the level of data sharing if any required.

To integrate data between two different organizations, you need to use a custom application/code.

  • Hello,

I think you could use the CRM 2011 Instance Adapter to sync data between organizations.

  • Hi Minal,

No I don't want to mirror the whole database, just want to share some entities.
