I have a question about Windows Vista.. I have been reading some about this new SPP.. it seems to be a headache for just about everyone except Microsoft ( Maybe even them too)... My question is Once I install Vista tomorrow (it is currently on a FedEX plane somewhere above KY), then say I dont know 3 months from now I decide to Format my Computer, Can I reinstall and Activate Vista. then 6 months from then Format and Reinstall again ???Friday, February 16, 2007 3:06 AM

Hello Nickrdea,
You're probably running nProtect GameGuard on a game you're playing. The reason Control Panel is blank is because the old version of GameGuard causes a tamper. Your system checks out as genuine because you didn't validate while you were tampered--which happened as soon as you ran GameGuard but gets cleared after a reboot. If you did try to validate, which I don't recommend for you at this point, you would fail validation and if you reran the MGA tool then you'd show as nongenuine. You can reboot for now and the tamper state will be cleared until you run the game again. It turns out that GameGuard has in fact implemented a fix, but because of their distribution model you'll need to approach your game's company to update their servers to the newest version of GameGuard. Please let me know which game you're running that uses GameGuard. I'm trying to get in touch with the game companies that are using it, and I'd like to start with the most popular games first. Thanks so much!

Well I am not sure what to think now... I already bought Windows Vista Ultimate, it will arrive in about 12 hours. I am not sure if I want to install it now or not.... Im sure I will cause I dont want to just up and lose $180.. This is an OEM DVD Version not a business version downloaded from Microsoft.. Will I have Problems with the install ? will I have Problems Later on down the road If I want to (and Will) when I upgrade my system... I also like to Format and reinstall.. things get on the computer and then get removed... then other things installled and removed.. I like to have a clean install maybe every 4 to 6 months. Will I run into problems re-activating Vista Ultimate ? furthermore after activation will it pass this new SPP Validation stuff after I upgrade or format? I would really like some help with this topic within 12 hours LOL, thats when Fed EX should be delivering it..Friday, February 16, 2007 7:42 AM

Please visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click Validate Windows - that should resync the WGA Validation files. Afterward, restart your computer.Saturday, February 17, 2007 12:18 AMModerator

Hi jinroh,
I'll wait to see your WGA diag info. Thanks!

Well I just recieved the messaged an no WGA diag.
The problem I had was that I could not do something like the disc cleanup oder uninstall software, like writen in the message, because vista blocked everything. So why do MS lists that for a solution? For that I had to boot up into safe mode to do that stuff, but when I tried to uninstall updates from MS I recieved the message that windows installer is not installed correctly.
After II tried all that of stuff I booted from my dvd and did the repair function. Then I roll back to a earlier point and it worked. OK my domain account (PC) was locked and that trust got lost. The rollback point got named with update installed (02/14/2007). So I roll back to the one before that and everything works know.
