  • Hello duckman28,

These forums are for the support of Windows Genuine Advantage Validation issues. Your post does not appear to be Vista Activation or Validation related and, as such, is off-topic for the forum (as well as outside my area of knowledge).

I suggest reposting your question to one of the Vista Newsgroups at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=42486 or go to http://support.microsoft.com for additional support options.

  • Click on the blue Vista start button and in the Start Search box type MSCONFIG.

When the MSCONFIG icon appears at the top of the Start Menu, click on it to open.

Next, click on the General tab and place a check next to Normal startup and click Apply,

    then restart your computer.

  • I've already tried this.I haven't tried to open it in a long time. This is what's it telling me.Task Scheduler Service is not available.Verify that the service is running. This is the same thing that's happening with Event viewer.I'm stumped with this.
