Online Photo backup with satelight internet connection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm internested in online photo backup.  The main concern I have is my ISP (Hughest Net) limits my use to 500MB in a twenty four hour period.  If I exceed it my internet speed is cut way back for a period of twenty four hours (its their FAP or Fair Access Policy).  Given this info and the fact I have a lot of photos, what it the upload rate that one care will use to upload the photos.  Is their a user option to set the rate.  I would want it as slow as possible.  Any thoughts?

PS.  Satelight internet is the only choice where I am.  Has been for years.

    Thanks.

  • In your situation I would not recommend Online Photo Backup. One Care will use idle bandwidth to upload photos and will upload them as quickly as your connection allows. You might also have issues if you ever need to restore the photos. With a 500 mb daily limit it could take days to restore your photos. Your best solution in addition to standard One Care backup would be to burn your photos to DVDs.
