Defaulting to Outlook after MS updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • After endless problems with Outlook I set up to use Outlook Express (on Windows XP Pro SP3), but every time Microsoft updates, my PC reverts to Outlook and once emails have downloaded there I can't get them across to Outlook Express to reply/file etc.  I don't want to uninstall Outlook as there are files there I need to save from when that was my default, and  other occassions when the system reverted after MS updates.  How can I "lock" Outlook Express as my preferred email vehicle and therefore stop MS updates throwing up Outlook?  And is there any way to get all my stuff out of Outlook into Outlook Express?  Grateful for advice please!
