Can not remove connector software on WHS 2011 xp client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Had to rebuild my WHS 2011 sys drive and not one of my XP clients will not connect.  I have tried to reinstall the connector software but of course it tells me that I first unintstall it.  When the un-install runs it get to a point that is asking for a file called clientcorex86.msi.  I have searched the xp files and I have found nothing.  Seems like a catch 22.  Does anyone know where I can get the clientcore file to try and make the un-install happy.  Thanks.....

  • Hi,

there was once a Windows Uninstaller Cleanup utility downloadable at Microsoft, which could solve such stuff by deleting the Installer information related to a selected program. This has been pulled due to side effects, which could happen sometimes.

You could try to run the Microsoft FixIt from KB2438651 or to delete the related information in the registry manually to solve the installer problem.

    Best greetings from Germany
