Incremental tasks assigned on a plan showing up on task list but not on timesheet RRS feed

  • I have got all the basics of project server 2010 in both SEM mode turned on and off working.


    My last challenge is to understand why new project line items I add to the project plan do not show up on the timesheet view but show up on the task list?


    Any suggestions?

    If a user creates a timesheet for the current period, and then the PM creates a new task in a project for that time period, the user does NOT see the new task in the Timesheet page for that period.  This is default behavior of Project Server 2010 and NOT a bug.  The user must do one of the following to see the new task during the current timesheet period:

    1.  Delete the timesheet and then recreate it.

    2.  Add the new task manually by clicking the Insert Row button on the Ribbon, selecting the Insert Task option, and then choosing the new task in the Add an Existing Task dialog.

    Keep in mind that once created, the Timesheet is a "static" device and not an "automatic" device.  That is why it would be wise for the PM to notify team members that he/she has just created a new task in a project during the current time period.  Hope this helps.
