IEEE 802 spec for audio video bridging

Question
-
Hi I was looking to upgrade my USB audio interface on home built windows PC platform to Ethernet based audio system. at present the only way seems to be to buy a rather expensive:
Streamware NIC-1 PIC-e network adapter, and a sound card for AVB (audio video bridging).
I heard rumors and seen articles that hint that this is in the pipe line but nothing from Microsoft
could someone from Microsoft please enlighten us all !!! and any technical problems it has encounter or if in fact the streamware NIC card is the only foreseeable solution.
Yours sincerely

Driver development is done by the manufacturer so I'd also ask them about any plans for new functionality of your hardware.
