CRM & IFD Tool

Question
-
Okay we need for our users to access the CRM from outside (Internet). Now i downloaded the IFD tool and put it in the respective folder.
After this im trying to setup the configuration.
Authentication: IFD+onPremise
Internal Network: 192.168.60.251 255.255.255.0
Ad Domain Scheme:Http
AD Root Domain & SDK Root Domain: both get populated with the schs-sql:5050
IFD Domain Scheme:Http
IFD Root Domain & SDK domain ( What should i put here? Is it my domain if so than its schs.org.ae)
Now when i apply the DNS cannot find the entry.
We have a host entry created with our ISP with an external IP absc.schs.org.ae which we like to use when we type from outside not our crm organization name.schs.org.ae
What are the next steps to perform; im stuck here

Hi,
example:
Your organisation in crm called abcd.
Your internal Domain called org.ae
In the IFD configuration tool you write in the field root domian & sdk domain org.ae
In this case you must have a DNS entry for abcd.org.ae that points to the IP-address for your crm server.
It should be a good idea o use https for the external use.

you will first need to get a ssl certificate crmorg.schs.org.ae
check that there is a dns entry for your server.
check firewall setting for request to be opened to the 1433 port
If you use isa 2006 there is a special procedure to follow.
download the IFD impleentation scenario document for further assistance http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?FamilyID=3861e56d-b5ed-4f7f-b2fd-5a53bc71dafc&displaylang=en

So the IFD configuration for root and sdk must be org.ae and not schs.org.ae
My organization in crm is (AdvancedBusiness.....) a full form for abcd, we told our ISP to create abcd.schs.org.ae is this wrong as our domain is registered online as schs.org.ae.

Let me clarify again
Domain name is schs.org.ae
The record created with our ISP is abcd.schs.org.ae
The organization name shown in IFD tool is AdvancedBusiness
1) what is the the IFD configuration for root and sdk must be org.ae or schs.org.ae?
2) the dns record should be abcd.schs.org.ae or AdvancedBusiness.schs.org.ae

simplest way is to use the public or static ip and connect crm server using the ip address provided by the ISPif u are using routers in between then use port forwarding concept to forward the port which u are using the crm to the local ip on which the crm is installedWednesday, September 9, 2009 12:40 PM
