I have been using Windows Home Server OK for a while but one of our computers required a total re-install of the operating system (Windows XP Media Centre) and the relevant applications etc. The Windows Home Server Connector software was not installed
straight away. So when the computer was returned and reconnected "as new" the Home Server Console now shows this one "greyed" out. Obviously the days since last back-up and the back-ups themselves are up to the day the computer
was switched off and taken away.
My problem is how to I re-instigate this computer?
When the Windows Home Server Connector software is re-installed I follow the set-up wizard which quite nicely connects this computer
but as a new one ! !
So now I have a greyed out computer with all my old back-ups and a new one
with the same name that has no back-ups. How can I "merge" these 2 so that I can restore the computer and continue the back-up library??
