Edge Migration to R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am performing an inside out migration.  I am moving users from the OCS 2007 pool to OCS 2007 R2 pool with an existing OCS 2007 Edge server still in place.  I can log in externally and send IM, but cannot launch Live Meeting 2007 and have a web conference.  In a trace it looks as if I'm getting reset when the client requests information from the web components through ISA.  I'm not clear on how this works:  My ISA server acts as a reverse proxy for my OCS 2007 pool which has all of the ABS and web conf. files on it locally.  My OCS 2007 R2 pool has data on a dedicated file server (as I'm building a bigger environment.)  Will this work?  Is it erroring because my client on the R2 pool is getting proxied back to the original 2007 server and can't find the data it's looking for and it reset?  Any help would be appreciated.

  • If you want both to host conferences then you must configure a new external URL
Otherwise you can redirect the ISA server to the new pool

  • External Web Components URL for the R2 pool through ISA only?

  • Yes:
    - addressbook will be ok because the Addressbook will be the same on both pools
    - Group expansion also works on either equally, this is just a web service that connects to AD
    - Conferencing is what you want to change to the new server

So the question is still if conferencing is not required on old pool then you can redirect all external URLs to the new pool/web components server
