Report server access problem

Question
-
Hi,
I need to know something concerning an authentication issue:
If i change the password of the user accessing the reportserver (reporting services) and that installed CRM 3.0, wouldn't i be able to log in to the report server anymore?
Because after changing the password, i'm getting the following error:"the report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. the logon failed (rsReportServerDatabaseLogonFailed). For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors."
Any idea?

No, that's what you should use. Now go to the reports manager, click show details, click properties for the mscrm reports folder, and click the security tab and look at permissions. What permissions does the reportinggroup have?

CRM and the report server both use the active directory credentials to log in, unless you have the report server set to impersonate a user.
Go to the report manager web site (http://nameofsrsserver/reports) click show details, open the MSCRM folder, look for the MSCRM data source, click the properties button, go to the security tab. Make sure that it is set to use Windows authentication.

I'm using Windows Authentication. So what could be the problem? Could it be the password resetting?Wednesday, July 2, 2008 2:13 PM
