Not enough server storage space to compress files before sending. (web-interface)

Question
-
Hi
I experience problems when trying to download 2 large files from the web-interface.
Files: 2x 6500mb ISO's.
Diskspace on server:
556GB total free space.
c: 13,5gb free
d: 556 gb free
The exact message I get from the web-interface is as follows:
Warning :********
There might not be enough server storage free space on your home server to compress these files. This could cause the download to fail. Please reduce the number of selected files for download and try again. Would you like to continue anyway?
********
Any ideas?

When you download multiple files at once, WHS will offer you the option of creating either a .zip or .exe (self-extracting .zip) file. You have to choose one or the other. The system partition is used as a cache for this file. In your case, the system partition probably won't have enough space for everything. And you may find that the process of creating the archive for downloading results in your download timing out, as well, since that's quite a bit of data to compress. And finally, the component being used to compress the file may be unable to handle an archive of that size. When you upload a file, it's also cached on the C: partition until the upload is complete. If your C: partition is almost full, you could run out of space due to that as well. In addition, I believe files being uploaded are limited in size to 4 GB.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)- Proposed as answer by kariya21Moderator Friday, December 12, 2008 4:12 AM

Yes, don't download that much at once. :) Try one file at a time. When you do more than one file, it creates a zip file for it (most likely on the C partition). There simply isn't enough room to zip that much before sending it out.- Proposed as answer by kariya21Moderator Friday, December 12, 2008 4:12 AM
