Windows 7 product key - Genuine or not? Associated problems? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I've had Windows 7 Professional installed on my PC for about a year now, but suddenly I am receiving messages that it's not genuine anymore. I have followed Darin Smith's advice (http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/genuinewindows7/thread/ce677eb0-7d97-46d6-81df-a05dca1c2b85) and the status message displayed that both the new key and activation were successful. Barely 5 minutes afterward, I get the message again that my Windows is not genuine. WTH?! Here is my report from MGADiag.exe:

Interesting – we don’t often see that set of errors on their own, without accompanying file mismatches.....
    try this....
The set of file mismatches above are typical of one of two causes:-
    1) a restore from an image backup of the system
    2) a failed driver update
The only one for which we currently have a solution is the second.....
Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here -
    - you’ll need the set for the x64 (64-bit) platform on Win7
Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.
    Good Luck!
