Expired Exams? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm looking to sit my final exam for MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2.  I completed the first exam in April last year.  When I logged into prometric this morning I had a look at my history and there's a column 'Status Expiration' which seems to show that the first exam I did has expired (over 1 year).

To get my MCSA qualification do I need to go and resit that exam?

  • Hi, timestream.

No - the MCSA exams do not expire. Once you passed it, you are done with that exam. The MCSE exams will require recertification, if you earn an MCSE.

If I were you, I would be more interested in seeing the passed exam on my Microsoft certification transcript. That is where it is counts. Log into the MCP site and check your transcript, here: http://www.microsoft.com/mcp

If you are still unsure, you can contact Microsoft by sending an email to mcphelp@microsoft.com

Alternately, you can contact you local Microsoft regional service center. Find the closest one on the following web page. You will need to click the plus (+) signs to expand them: https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/help.aspx

    Good luck!

    Best wishes, Davin Mickelson
