Windows 7 Build 7601 Windows is not Genuine - been using since 2 years past RRS feed

  • I have looked at other posts and there seems to be a problem once windows 7 updated. (for people with legitimate copies of Win7)

    I have a sticker on my computer and My product key is now invalid! I have an OEM profesional 32bit 

    This has come in a case with a carton no# code / end item pi# / etc. (I can take a picture)

Answers

  • You have an OEM SLP version but your system has a Retail motherboard.  OEM SLP versions of Windows are only licensed for the hardware upon which they were originally installed.  You can try to use the Product Key from your COA Sticker, but most likely, you will need to purchase a Retail version of Windows, format your drive and install it.  Be sure to back up your data first.
