Exchange Integration

For Exchange integration to work does my whole Exchange environment have to be on either Ex2007 SP2 or above, or can it just be the Exchange servers that are hosting the mail boxes of my PS users that I want to enable Exchange integration for. ie, can I partially upgrade my current Exchange 2003 environment by placing an Exchange 2010 server in that environment, and moving my Project Server community's mailboxes to the Exchange 2010 server?

Yes needs to be ES 2007 SP2 or above as documented on TechNet. Not familiar with ES upgrade path.

So, assuming the ES upgrade path that I suggested is valid, (ie a mixed mode of Ex2003 and Ex2010 which I'm told is valid), then just having my PS user's mailboxes on the Ex2010 server meets the requirements (I just need to be as sure as I can, and alas, I don't have a Ex2003 environment!)
