trying to reuse/reformat an already used dvd+r disc windows will not recognize the disc as no data on it even after reformating it. RRS feed

  • It seems that once i use a dvd+r cd rom disc i cannot reuse it again for some other data storage. even if I reformat the disc. the error still comes up that there is data on the disc please use an clean disc? what am I doing or missing in my process?  thank you

  • DVD+R, DVD-R are not rewritable. Only DVD+/- RW can be re-used.

  • Furthermore, if you are using RW disc media and your issue is with OneCare backup using erased discs, OneCare does not tend to like re-used discs. We generally recommend that you stick with the cheaper write once media for compatibility reasons. Note also that the reliability of RW discs is lower than write once discs.
