I upgraded my hard drive by imaging the old one and restoring to the new one and now my WGA validation fails. I am a teacher and this is a school district provided laptop. Here is the results of the diagnostics utility:

Think I solved it. From http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2509997 - this is what fixed it for me. Thanks again for the help. I, at least, was able to install the validation update and the get past the validation.
Method 8: Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder
Rename the Windows Update temporary SoftwareDistribution folder. To do this, follow these steps:- Open an administrative Command Prompt window.
- Run the following commands, and press Enter after each command:
- Net stop wuauserv
- cd %systemroot%
- Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
- Net start wuauserv
- Try to install updates again.
- Updates that are currently downloaded but that have not yet been installed have to be downloaded again by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
- When you delete the Software Distribution folder, your download history is removed.
- If you currently receive updates from Microsoft Update and from Windows Update, you will have to reselect this option from the Windows Update website.
Note If the issue is resolved and you can successfully download and install updates, you can safely delete the SoftwareDistribution.old folder to recover disk space.Jon Howard

The common cause for these mismatches is a faulty Intel Rapid Storage Tech driver
Download and install the latest version from....
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=2101&DwnldID=20624&lang=eng&iid=dc_rss
then run another MGADiag report and post the results.

That Intel driver had no effect (I rebooted at least twice since). I've pasted the new MGADiag below. When I click the resolve online option on the WGA window that says I'm not genuine, I am taken to a page to "Download Required Windows Validation Components". When I run the downloaded file WindowsActivationUpdate.exe, the install fails with a 0xC8000222 error. I also am unable to run Windows6.1-KB947821-v22-x86.msu (a suggestion to fix the install error). It fails with the same error.

Actually the Intel driver fixed the file mismatches and tampered files in your first report. If you compare the two reports you will see the difference.
Your report show as genuine now.
However the event time stamp shows as 7/24/2012 which I suspect your install didn't validate ( guessing a little )
What happens if you validate it?
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/
As far as the updates go you will find knowledgeable people here:
Saturday, July 28, 2012 10:27 PMAnswerer -
If I go to that page, it redirects me to the "Download Required Windows Validation Components" page (see my earlier post for the results). If I am showing up as genuine, why do I still get the WGA not Genuine popup? I do appreciate your help!

I'm not sure why. Your report shows no issues.
I would have expected the validation time stamp to change. I have asked for assistance from someone more knowledgeable than I. He is in the U.K so if he is not up late it may take several hours for him to respond.
Saturday, July 28, 2012 10:38 PMAnswerer -
When I try and run sfc /scannow (another recommended fix for my issue), I get:
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
Does this add any information?
