Shorter Recent Activity list after the Forums Update in February RRS feed

  • Question

  • I noticed that the Recent Activity only works 1 or 2 days and after this it displays no activity. This happens in the Microsoft, MSDN (Not Technet where I post most time). Was this changed and why?

  • I too use TechNet most of the time so I haven't seen the cut-off often but I'm glad for your explanation because I was wondering why for some people it was saying they had virtually no posts yet when I clicked on the "View all forum threads" link there were a lot more.

However I just assumed that all forum threads were the total list of threads the user had posted to both when he/she was in msdn and those posted to when in technet. (Always a problem for the SharePoint forums because you can post to them from both).

Since I "worked that out" I've not been checking for posts from the same person in MSDN if the original Active List was done while in technet.

I wonder if that was a big blunder.

    Forum software team (=Brett?) ?

  • The my Forums threads show posts from all 4 brands (MSDN, Technet, Expression, Microsoft). I post a lot each day, so after a week it is difficult to find my posts i made in MSDN/Microsoft. Before the latest update I saw my activity for a longer time, so it was easier to find the posts.

We have to wait until Brent replies.

  • Recent Activity is brand specific, My Threads is for all forums. So this is not consistent, we are looking to make the activities list in profile brand agnostic in the future. Realize both ux lists are outdated per our current system issues we are working on:  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/reportabug/thread/6441a8e7-86c2-423b-a7af-89cbcd8b930f
