WHS Vail Install won't get past "Starting Windows" screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • I built a small home server/HTPC and wanted to try out WHS Vail.  Burned the .iso as an .iso properly and Windows 7 verified the data successfully.  It will boot from the dvd and get past the Loading Windows part with the progress bar, but does not get past the Starting Windows screen.  Any suggestions?

  • I figured it out after I tried booting from a Windows 7 disc and that failed too.

I disabled AHCI in my BIOS.  Fixed it right up and have Vail loaded.

Have you tried a different DVD drive?
