  • What you need is a remote desktop access software. There are two ways you can do this:

    1) Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection

First off, enable remote desktop in the server pc. Then, you and your friends can connect to the server computer using remote desktop (which is built-in to windows). Start >> Run and type "mstsc.exe". If you are using Vista, just Start and type in "mstsc.exe" (without quotes) and hit enter. This will open up the remote desktop connection program. Enter the server IP and the user name and password when promted and you are good to go.

    2) VNC (RealVNC)

In case the first option didn't work out, you can use a popular 3rd party program called RealVNC which is much more advanced than microsoft remote desktop. Visit http://www.realvnc.com and download the free server edition and client software. Install the server edition in your server and make sure to run the service. Distribute the VNC Viewer application to your friends and simply enter the IP address of the server. You can set in the options whether to allow multiple connections simultaneously or not. Of course, you can customize it a lot but all options are pretty much obvious. Typical port is 5900. So, enter IP as like 127.0.0.1:5900 or whatever port you chose. It's better to choose a non default port for security reasons.

I didn't go into much details into the installation procedure, etc. If you need any help in setting it up, feel free to ask Smile
