Command Line Issue with %PATH% system variable RRS feed

    Hi,

    I uninstalled a program from a VM, which actually removes my program's install path from the %PATH% variable as part of the uninstallation process.

    The strange thing that i faced is that, the %PATH% variable is actually updated in the registry at this location - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\Path and the same could be seen on the GUI too.

    But when i type "path" command on a NEW command prompt window, i still the see the path value that was removed in the registry & GUI. 

    Can someone please explain this weird behavior?
