  • Question

  • Hi,

My company uses CRM for their claims. Sometimes our Negotiators assign opportunities to other people. We want to see how many times one opportunity get assigned. Is this possible?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

I would suggest to turn on global auditing and enable auditing of ownerid field for opportunity.

  • Hello,

Yes, it is possible and the above answer should work just fine.

Alternatively you can add a custom field to Opportunity and set up a Workflow to increment that field by 1 everytime an assignment is performed. This way you'd know exactly how many times a given Opportunity was assigned.

  • This is great thanks so much. Is there a way to track who previously owned an opportunity? So there is tracking history on the owner?

Yes. In case you will activate auditing for opportunity for Owner field - this information would be tracked after opportunity is reassigned.

  • I created a workflow to count how many times the OwnerID gets assigned in the Opportunity section. It does work, but sometimes it counts more than I want it to. I also created a workflow stating if count = 1 insert it into this field here etc. That is working too, but sometimes the same name get put into the same field more than once. Why would this happen? What can I do to change this?
