Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Group Policy (Wireless Network (IEEE 802.3 Policies) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like some advice on where to post the following question please?

Is there a way of configuring Group Policy in Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard to enable the following behaviour?

When a client (laptop) is connected to the Wi-Fi in our office and the client is then placed back in its docking station, the wireless adapter is disconnected.  The client will then communicate using its Ethernet adapter as normal.

I think that this may be possible by configuring the 'Wireless Network (IEEE 802.3) Policies' section in Group Policy Management.

Any insight onto how this could be accomplished would be great.  This scenario is to prevent our clients from being simultaneously connected to the domain via the Wi-Fi and the Ethernet connection in our office.
