Zune on Mesh

General discussion
-
I've started to wonder if there are other teams within MSFT that are working to integrate their products with Mesh. There are many teams that could benefit I'm sure but chiefly I want the Zune team to embrace Mesh.
If my Zune device were associated with my Mesh rather than with a particular computer then the experience would be so much better:
- I wouldn't have to re-associate my Zune with a new computer should I choose to buy one (which I am soon going to).
- My zune media would be accessible from anywhere that runs Mesh.
Those are the main reasons. I've discussed this in a little more detail here: http://forums.zune.net/257588/ShowPost.aspx and here: http://forums.zune.net/269700/ShowPost.aspx
Thoughts on that? Can you see any more benefits of having Zune run on Mesh?
To the Mesh team...if you could have a quiet word in the Zune team's earhole about this than I for one would be very grateful ;)

Hi Jamie,
We're certainly looking to make Live Mesh work with as many devices as possible, but we're not ready to talk details just yet. ;)
Live Mesh support for Zune has been a popular request, though. I'll add your vote to the tally!

I just got a 4GB Zune for Christmas and am reading about Live Mesh synchronization of files. If Zune were added to the Mesh framework, that would allow me to move my MP3 files off my hard drive for syncing. This would be extremely helpful. Please do this if possible. Thank you!Thursday, January 15, 2009 7:57 PM

The way I see it, the problem with Zune right now is that it is "single master". i.e. Everything (music library, podcast subscriptions, uploading of play counts, adding friends) is controlled from one machine. Why shouldn't I be able to control this stuff from ANY of my machines - or any machine that has a web browser on it?

Absolutely, Jamie. I'd love to see this integration! And, dishragwhore, I actually own 4 of them. <g> I still use the original Zune30 most of the time. I bought a brown 30 from Woot for cheap, then bought the Joy Division special edition because I'm crazy. Then I ordered the 120 when it was released with the intent of using it most of the time to have more content with me at all times.
