  • Question

  • Back again - alright I have removed the alleged counterfeit Office Pro 2003 Version I had previously and have loaded a genuine trial version of Office 2007.  I've run the GAD again and the results are below - can someone tell me why I cannot regain control over my system restore points, system information etc.  They still will not work.  Is there something else I need to do to get back to normal?

I'll load my first analysis from the GAD to compare to latest, hopefully that will help with some guidance.

  • Hello Beagle,

Well you are showing a 100 Genuine with 102 status for the Trial version of Office currently installed. This would be normal as 102 indicates a trial version.  As far as you inquiring about: "can someone tell me why I cannot regain control over my system restore points, system information etc." I am not sure. Actually this would fall outside the scope of the Windows and/or Office Genuine Support forum.

I suggest posting your question to the Discussions in Windows XP General Forum newsgroups here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.general&lang=en&cr=US

Curious have you ran a through anti-virus scan as well as a through anti-maleware scan of your system? Should you not have these programs you may want to try Microsoft Live OneCare located @ http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm . Also you can download a free trial version and should you like the service purchase a subscription.

Sorry that I could not provide you with a direct fix for what you are asking but the forum above will be the right source for getting an answer.

    Take care Beagel,
