My laptop is 3 years old and had to reformat my hard drive. I lost my original install discs and so called HP and had them send me replacement cd's. Now when I try to validate the product key from the bottom of the laptop, I get the validation error and so can not download any updates. Could you please help me figure out how my product code became invalid? I blanked out the whole key, do you need the last three like it was originally?
