  • Money 2007 or Money Plus cannot use a UK Money file. You would need to install the US version and uninstall UK Money 2005. Money 2005 UK - QFE2 (the fixed self-contained UK Money 2005 file) can be downloaded from the link at http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26915

The error message that you received is not what I would have expected. I would have expected an "incompatible version" message.

Check the folder with your *.mny file for a recent *.m14 file. That would indicate that the US version attempted conversion, and that the *.m14 file would be a copy of your Money 2005 before conversion was attemped. I would copy that *.m14 file to a something.mny name, and open that file with your Money 2005 reinstallation.

  • Thank you for your advice. I have uninstalled Money 2007 and reinstalled Money 2005. However I now cannot open my.mny files. Any suggestions, please?

  • Copy my.m14 to my2.mny. Then open my2.mny.

  • Thank you to youself and to Cal Learner for your patience and assistance. Having downloaded QFE2 file I have been able to access both of my data files.
