Abuse marking removed - comment under the post is "marked as abuse by ..."

Question

A post was marked as being abusive, which imo it wasn't given who the poster was (good track record in the community; provider of useful free tools and also the post was relevant to the question), so I unmarked it.This is what was listed under the post.Reported as abuse by nuclear 2 hours 19 minutes agoNote: advertisementReported as abuse by Mike Walsh MVP a few seconds ago<Reason for unmarking it>Clear bug, I think you'll agree !

It's still a mistake that other moderators see a text that say that I have marked it as abuse when I have in fact removed a mark as abuse !

Are you calling out that you can see it as the bug (in which case, only moderators can see abuse notes)
Or are you literally seeing "<Reason for unmarking it>" (which, I assume, you didn't type)? In which case, definite bug...

Sorry about the confusion.
I was using <Reason for unmarking it> in the same way I would use http://<servername>/default.aspx in a message that included an address in a server. I.e. it just means "whatever message I wrote there."I also was unaware that these Abuse notes could only be seen by Moderators. However even Moderators should not be told that I have "Reported as abuse" when I have in fact deleted the "This post is abusive" tag !

It's a matter of history. This way if another mod (or the original one) comes along and feels it's abusive, they can see the reasoning that has already happened. Without this, the original mod may think his first marking didn't take, so will mark it again. It becomes a game of chicken.
I'm aware that a non-mod may come along and mark it, but this trail of history is extremely valuable for mods to see, and 99% of the population don't need to know that someone thought something was abusive.
Hope that helps
