  • Question

  • How do I cancel. I tried logging into the account. Says I do not have and account. I used the password. Still no account. They have already charged my account way before the 90 days. We just signed up the 17th with 90 days and and they took payment already. Nothing is working on any computers. I have tried the back up from the other sites. Cant find the location. I have had more problems with this program. I just want to uninstall it, and get our money back. This is what I got from someone. However I dont have an account. Why?

This mail is confirmation that you successfully purchased Windows Live OneCare on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Here is a description of your purchase:

You have selected a one year subscription to Windows Live OneCare (covers up to 3 PCs) for $49.95 plus tax. Windows Live OneCare is the all-in-one security and performance service for your Windows XP or Windows Vista-based PC and includes Antivirus, Antispyware, Anti-Phishing, Managed Firewall, Performance Tune-Ups, Data Backup, and Support.

  • Open OneCare on the computer that you activated and verify the LiveID used to purchase OneCare with. Click Help/About to see the subscription LiveID. Sign in at http://support.windowsonecare.live.com to see your support options. If you don't see the OneCare subscription on the Billing site, you are signing in with a different LiveID than you subscribed/purchased with.

When you activate, you are charged immediately, no matter how long you have used the trial as you are converting from a trial to a paid subscription at that point.

It is unclear what you mean by "nothing is working" and what you did to try to resolve that, but support can also be reached by email following the information here:

  • My subscription to Live OneCare ends Sep 6, 2009.
There is a note saying that it will be renewed automatically.
However, I decided not to renew, but find no way to cancel my credit card in the system.
How can I reach microsoft to advice NOT TO RENEW AUTOMATICALLY?

  • Shortly before the renewal date, contact support to cancel your account.

If you forget, and you get billed, contact support for a refund after the renewal and receive a credit within 7 to 10 days (typically).
