Launchpad/Dashboard Stop Working RRS feed

  • Question

  •  Interesting development.

All of a sudden Launchpad stop being loaded when Windows would reboot. I've never had a problem with the server connector before on my Windows Media Center machine (Windows 7).

This is new machine and the server connector installed without a hitch.

I noticed the launchpad didn't come up when windows finish loading (SSD). I tried to delete the server connector software and re-installing it but it came back with an error that a problem occurred during installation contact your admin.

Next I tried a restore point and that brought the server connector software back, but it still won't start. Double click on the client app won't start either, nor the dashboard.

Windows Media Center Home Server Icon is missing it's background but still connected to the server

     What's going on here?

There was a so-called critical update installed by Windows Update, that could have broken it. I don't think messing around with Tuner Adapter Proxy software would impact the server connector.

  • Hi,

Please try the steps below to resolve the issue:

    In your client machine:

    Go to C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft_Corporation

Make backup copies of DashboradClient.exe_StrongName_.... and Lauchpad.exe_StrongName_...

    Delete the originals.

Reboot and try the Launchpad (you will need to reset password options)
